A LITTLE CAMERA HELP
How to Transfer Digicam Photos to Your Phone
A matching memory-card reader is a useful starting point: it connects the camera’s card to your phone or computer. Use the exact camera’s reader guide to choose the slot.
1. Match the reader to the memory card.
An SD reader suits the SD/SDHC card listed for Canon PowerShot SD1000. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 needs a Memory Stick PRO Duo reader. Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 needs an xD reader for its recommended xD card. A reader described simply as “universal” still needs the correct slot.
2. Match the connection to your device.
Choose USB-C, Lightning or USB-A for the phone or computer you plan to use. Check the reader listing for support for that device, card type and card capacity.
3. Import before deleting.
Turn off the camera, remove the memory card and insert it into the reader. Connect the reader to your device and look in Photos or Files for import or external-storage options. Confirm that your photos have copied before deleting anything from the card.
The USB cable may transfer photos without charging.
The Mini-USB data cable for Canon PowerShot SD1000 transfers photos; its NB-4L battery charges in an external CB-2LV-family charger. A cable fitting the socket does not prove that the camera can charge through it. Check the charging note in the exact model’s kit.
If the device cannot see the card.
Check the reader’s slot and device support, reconnect it, and try a compatible computer. Avoid formatting a card that still holds photos you need to recover.
